Michael Dirla joined Edison Partners in April 2021 as an Associate and serves as a key member of the investment team, focusing on identifying and evaluating growth equity opportunities across Financial Technology, Enterprise Solutions, and Healthcare IT. In addition to being on the investment team, Michael leads the firm’s portfolio management function, working closely with deal leads to drive strategic decision-making across active funds. Since joining Edison, he has played a critical role in four new platform investments, participated in more than ten core follow-on investments, and is an active board participant across several portfolio companies.
Prior to Edison, Michael began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Credit Suisse, where he advised on a range of M&A and capital markets transactions for leading insurance carriers and asset management firms. He later joined the investment team at Lightyear Capital, a private equity firm specializing in financial services, where he supported investments across fintech, insurance, and wealth management.
Michael remains actively engaged with his alma mater, Rutgers University, where he helped launch the Road to Wall Street program as an undergraduate and continues to serve as a mentor to aspiring finance professionals. In recognition of his impact in growth equity, he was recently honored as a RBS Rising Business Star Under 30 – Industry Pioneer, an award given to those making exceptional contributions in their field.
An avid traveler and F1 enthusiast, Michael has visited all 50 U.S. states and is always seeking out the next Grand Prix to attend. A self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, he frequently takes his own car to the racetrack and aspires to one day drive a Formula 1 car himself.
Michael holds a B.S. in Finance from Rutgers University, graduating summa cum laude.
