My early career was shaped by paying really close attention to the different leadership styles that my first bosses had. I learned pretty early on what techniques and styles work and don't work, in terms of motivating people and teams.
My first job was as a valet parking attendant. And yes, I did have a Ferris Bueller moment with a Ferrari.
Chris Sugden and I had a long-standing friendship that eventually led to a discussion about my joining the firm. After getting to know the rest of the team for about a year or so, it was clear that my skillset and the firm's needs nicely intersected. The best move of my professional career.
