The leaders, mentors, coaches, and teachers who have inspired me to be my best self at home and at work have three unmistakable attributes in common:

• an insatiable curiosity and thirst for learning and growing personally and professionally, and a burning need to keep asking questions;
• an obsession with both helping people around them grow and develop, and empowering them to succeed beyond what they imagined was possible;
• the humility that comes from understanding how little they truly know.

These are also the more intangible leadership qualities I look for in a management team when assessing the potential of any business or investment. I am extremely fortunate to have been raised in a household that embraced these qualities. They are nearly impossible to fake, but they can be acquired and honed over time.
